Game Critique 2

In, Starcraft, you take a omniscient view. You have control over almost everything to do with your units, and decide where to build. During story mode you are limited in the beginning to what you can build and units you can create.

Some challenges that you face are the limited resources around the area as well as making sure that you protecting your forces. There is also a limitation on the amount of units you can have making it more difficult on the player. They have to then balance attack power, defenses, and gathering and building.

Certain races in the game have different specialties. Zerg are a faster race, with the ability to strike first, the Terran and Protoss get strong as the game goes on although the Protoss are a more expensive of the two. Due to this difference, when the player uses a different race they have to change their strategy, and a lot of players tend to only use one of the three races, because they can't find a strategy that works with the other races.


The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, the view is in a third person. In this game you only have control over the main character, Link. Throughout the game you are faced with different puzzles and problems by getting different tools. Your character also gets more health and better equipment.

Problems that occur during the game are looking for arrows, health, and bombs. In certain areas it is harder to get items, and there are bottles that carry different items that can be changed. To get through the game you must constantly be using different items and bring different items to make sure you can get through the dungeons.

As the game gets harder you can upgrade certain weapons. With the boomerang you get at the beginning of the game which is blue you can throw it into the great fairy's pond and she returns it better than before, with a longer distance and a different color. Also there are a total of four swords that you could get in the game, the starting sword, the master sword, the upgraded master sword and if you through the upgraded one in the fairy's pond you receive the fairy sword. Getting these upgrades along with the player getting more use to playing the game makes it easier to get through the game .

The player is also challenged to find the solutions to different puzzles and also different weakness to each dungeon boss. Usually, the item found in that dungeon is the weakness to the boss but that is not allows the case.
